An eight-month survey collected information from family members of precollege and first-year college students. From this survey, the FamilyEd newspaper and a website for families were developed. The newspaper speaks to family issues and offers a full array of resources to help with the transition for families and for their students. Circulation of the newspaper is 15,000 households. The cost of printing this newspaper is supported by advertisements. Preparing for college in the best way can make all the difference for the family and for the student’s success in the early years of college.
