SPAN: CyberTEENs
The CyberTEENs Program provides the opportunity for technologically gifted high school students to enroll in computer science and computer technology courses and programs offered through the Purdue School of Science on the IUPUI campus.
College Course Enrollment
Qualified students will be interviewed by the SPAN Division academic counselor and a member of the computer science or computer technology faculty to determine the student's level of computer expertise. Course level (100–400) placement will be based upon the assessment and successfully completed course work.
Advantages of college course enrollment:
- Earn both high school and college credits
- Complete high school or college early
- Make a head start on college
- Gain early entry into the job market
- Benefit from one-on-one counseling and academic future planning with a university counselor
- Have the registration process completed for you
- Explore a variety of college subjects
- Enroll in day, evening, and weekend courses available on and off campus
- Interact with full-time college students and others interested in your particular career field
The SPAN Division enjoys a 100% success rate in transferring college credits earned by SPAN students. Many high-ability SPAN students have remained at Indiana University–Purdue University Indianapolis to complete their college education and have received some of IUPUI's top honors scholarships. Others have attended or are presently attending prestigious schools such as Harvard University, MIT, Stanford University, Yale University, and Cornell University.
