Students: Career Planning: Career Fairs: Tips for Attending SEIF
- The fair is FREE!
- You don’t need to register - just stop by and find out what all the excitement is about!
- Employers will be recruiting for internships and part-time hourly jobs. On & off-campus jobs as well as on & off-campus Federal Work-Study jobs will be available.
- This is a casual job fair - no interviewing suits needed!
- Resumes are not required but highly suggested and some employers will require them in order to interview for their job opportunities.
- Check out the list of participating employers and their job and internship opportunities ahead of time. There are also links to their websites for more information.
- Be prepared to answer questions about your major, work experience, work interests, skills, and availability to work, etc.
- Be prepared to ask the employers questions about the position, such as: flexibility in scheduling, job responsibilities, company’s product or service, benefits and tuition assistance, hiring process, etc.
- Find out how you can follow-up about the position after the fair. Get the name and contact information for following-up. Be proactive!
- Refer other students, classmates, and friends to attend the job fair. It is always fun and full of great jobs and internships!
