Students: Career Planning: Job Shadowing

Job shadowing is an activity in which students arrange to spend a few hours or days observing a professional working in their field of interest. Students may see firsthand many of the rewards and challenges of a particular career as well as some of the job characteristics that no one ever thinks to tell you!

The Alumni Mentor Database lists hundreds of IUPUI alumni from a variety of fields interested in mentoring students throughout their career exploration and development process. Many alumni mentors will allow students to job shadow them throughout a typical day at work.
