Students: Career Planning: Workshops

  • All workshops are open to students/faculty/staff/alumni of IUPUI.
  • There is no charge for attending these workshops, with the exception of the Business Etiquette Luncheon.
  • Reservations are required for most workshops. To make a reservation, log into JagJobs and click on "Events Calendar." For assistance with making a workshop reservation, please call (317) 274-2554 (press "0" for the receptionist) or email career1@iupui.edu

CHOOSING A MAJOR & CAREER

ETIQUETTE LUNCHEON
RESERVATIONS REQUIRED:

Individuals who anticipate having business meals, graduate school interviews, and professional conferences in their future are encouraged to attend at least one Etiquette Luncheon. Participants will learn the basics of Business Etiquette while enjoying a 4-course meal* and a presentation from a professional Etiquette Consultant, Mary Starvaggi.

MID-CAREER CHANGE

Statistics indicate that many people will change careers numerous times in their lifetime. This workshop will include the issues involved in mid-career change such as: readiness for a job/career change, self-assessment, specific job hunting techniques useful for mid-level careers, typical mid-career path, attitudes associated with mid-career change, changing work ethics, and mid-career and mid-life challenges. Co-facilitated by Dr. Sherrée Wilson, Special Assistant to the Chancellor and Ed Squires, Career Counselor.

PRACTICE INTERVIEWS (VIDEO-TAPED)

One of the most effective ways to prepare for a job interview is to practice. In this workshop you will participate in mock interviews in which you will be video taped and given feedback on your performance during an interview. Bring your resume. (Hurry! Space is limited to 4 participants!)
